About

My name is John Hogan and I am a Web Development Team Lead from Sydney, Australia with a passion for development and the management of development teams. I have been involved with computers for as long as I can remember and have been developing since 2000. I started my commercial involvement with website development in 2003 when I worked as a contractor for pitstop101, a local development company with a focus on developing websites for small businesses.

In July of 2004 I was employed as a Website Developer with a focus on HTML & JavaScript; however after a couple of months my role changed to be more focused on server-side development. In December of 2004 my role changed again to include 3G mobile development and enabled me to be at the forefront of an emerging technology.

In May of 2007 I joined the development team at Emap Australia as their lead .NET Developer. Later in 2007 Emap Australia was purchased by ACP Magazines Ltd and I was invited to join the ACP digital team as their Senior Developer. In mid 2008 I was promoted to the Development Team Lead and charged with managing the development team on a day-to-day basis in addition to managing the development of long term projects. During my time at ACP Magazines I have been involved in many projects ranging in size from graphic intensive advertorial work to large community based social networking websites which receive millions of hits a month.
